5 inches in length – female is slightly smaller

Feeding in Captivity:

Will eat mostly anything but does well on fruit flies, brine shrimp, mosquito larvae and daphnia.

Breeding:

This species will breed in a type of fish tank “cave” such as a PVC pipe or flowerpot, as well as near the surface of the water on occasion. Nearly 100 eggs are produced per spawn
