  • Male – Males are brown
  • Female – Rows of iridescent green scale edges
  • Black band flows through the eye from the lower lips and across the gill cover
  • Females are smaller and not as brightly colored

  • Brown and blue unpaired fins
  • Anal fin has white submarginal band
  • Females fins are shorter than the males

Size:

More than 3 inches in length

Moderate calcium-magnesium hardness of 10-20 although they tolerate other conditions well

Breeding:

Will spawn in community tank in a cave from a large flowerpot. Higher water temperatures will induce breeding.
